# Glossary

> The words of the Manifest dashboard, each defined once.

## Requests

### Request

One API request your app sent to a provider. It has one or more attempts.

### Attempt

One try of a request: the Initial call, or the Autofix retry after a
patch.

### Handling

Which attempt gave a request its final answer: the Initial call, or the
Autofix retry.

### Call

What an attempt sends: a method and a URL. Each attempt makes one call.

### Failed request

A request whose final answer was an error, whether Manifest tried to patch it
or not. Its outcome is Failed.

### Recoverable request

A request that came back with an error Manifest can try to heal: a `4xx`
other than `401`, `402`, `403` and `429`. Its outcome is Success if a patch
works, Failed if not, and Unknown if the SDK never reported the retry.

### Outcome

What your app finally received: Success, Failed, or Unknown when
the SDK never reported the retry.

### Healed

A request whose patched retry succeeded.

### Success rate

The share of requests that ended without an error.

## Issues

### Issue

A group of failed requests that share one error.

### Patch

The change Manifest applies to a failing request before the retry.

### Patched

An issue with a working patch. No patch found means it has none yet.

### Resolved

An issue you marked as resolved, usually once you fixed it in your code. A
resolved issue leaves the default Issues list, and nothing else changes: it
does not depend on whether Manifest has a patch for it. If a request hits the
issue again, Manifest reopens it.

## Providers and projects

### Provider

The API a request calls.

### Endpoint

The method and the path of a request.

### Health badge

A provider's health badge follows its success rate over the period.

| Badge             | Condition                              |
| ----------------- | -------------------------------------- |
| All good          | 99.5% of its requests succeed, or more |
| Some failures     | From 95% to under 99.5% succeed        |
| Unstable          | Under 95% succeed                      |
| Insufficient data | Fewer than 20 requests in the period   |
| No requests       | No request in the period               |

### SDK

The library you add to your app. It records your requests and applies the
patches.

### Live self-healing

The project setting that lets Manifest patch requests. It is on by default.
